Marcia Leong
Speech Pathologist

Marcia Leong is a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Practising Speech Pathologist. She holds a Master's degree in Speech and Language Pathology from The University of Sydney and a Bachelor's degree in Medical Science from The University of Wollongong. Marcia has been working in the Macarthur and Southwest Sydney region for over 17 years and has a broad range of experience in paediatric speech and feeding therapy.
Throughout her career, Marcia has worked in various roles, beginning as a New Graduate at Liverpool Hospital and progressing to a Senior Paediatric Speech Pathology position. She has also provided leave coverage as Paediatric Team Leader at Liverpool Hospital. Her expertise spans across early intervention, preschool and school-based communication, complex paediatrics, outpatient feeding and swallowing therapy, and interdisciplinary team collaborations.
Marcia is passionate about providing quality, evidence-based services to children with communication and feeding difficulties. She is deeply committed to supporting families through each step of their child’s speech and feeding journey.
In addition to clinical work, Marcia has extensive experience supervising university students, new graduates, and experienced speech pathologists. She also provides ongoing education and training to healthcare professionals, including GPs, paediatricians, allied health clinicians, and educators in the areas of communication and feeding.
Marcia has contributed to numerous quality improvement projects, including the development of a new model of care for outpatient feeding services at Liverpool Hospital. She has also presented at the Speech Pathology Australia Conference on the LISP study, a randomized controlled trial comparing two forms of articulation intervention.
With a strong passion for evidence-based practice and a deep understanding of the importance of the early years in a child’s life, Marcia is committed to providing specialist speech pathology care to children and their families, helping them overcome communication and feeding challenges, and empowering them to reach their full potential.
